Last July, a radiant sun and heat took on the role of guests of honor on the beautiful day when Ana and André exchanged promises and declarations of love.

Ana started her day the best way possible, having her hair and make-up done by the skilled Raquel Leal. She then changed into her dress with floral lace details from Best Bridal, completing her elegant look for the big day.

On the other side, André’s preparations began. He wore a light-colored suit from Best Bridal paired with a cream satin tie.

The ceremony took place in the Mother Church of Santa Maria da Feira, a beautiful moment where the bride and groom exchanged vows in the presence of their loved ones.

The reception followed at Quinta do Rio, where the entertainment began with the ribbon game, which highlighted the bride’s beautiful bouquet made by Historias de Flores.

The venue not only provided mouth-watering catering but also entertainment for the event. From the musicians to the DJ, every note and beat brought joy to the space, making everyone present give in to the festive atmosphere.

There was also a moment to celebrate Gonçalo’s baptism with the cutting of his cake and a session with the couple and guests by White Valley, who were responsible for the photography and video of the day.

After the Sunset, some photos, and lots of good times, it was time for dinner, which took place in the hall decorated by Quinta do Rio itself, all the tables adorned with white flowers and gold elements.

After dinner, it was time for the cutting of the cake. The bride and groom had their entrance lit up by little sparkles in the hands of their guest.

Such an incredible day could only end in the best way: with a ball! After the thrilling opening of the dance floor with the couple’s first dance, the evening was full of laughter, fun photos with props, a contagious rhythm, and memories that will live on in the book of honor for years to come.

We renew our best wishes to Ana and André and hope they will treasure this day with all their hearts ♥

Catarina and Bruno | Quinta do Avesso https://www.getmarried.pt/en/2023/10/26/catarina-bruno-quinta-do-avesso/ https://www.getmarried.pt/en/2023/10/26/catarina-bruno-quinta-do-avesso/#respond Thu, 26 Oct 2023 10:52:05 +0000 https://www.getmarried.pt/pt/?p=3599 On April 29th, under a blue spring sky, Quinta do Avesso, located in Labruge, witnessed a unique event that perfectly combined Catarina and Bruno’s love for each other with their passions. This couple’s wedding was not only a celebration of union, but also a tribute to cinema, music, and above all a tribute to the memory and courage that mark April 25th.

Graphic design by Rebellis Design Atelier.

The main goal of this day was to make it unforgettable for the couple. To achieve this, it was important to consider all their wishes and expectations, from their look to every detail until the last dance of the night, all thought out with precision and care with the support of Get Married Wedding Planner.

The day began with preparations of the bride and groom with the help of Estefânia Genovese, who worked her magic on the bride’s hair and make-up, enhancing her natural beauty with a simple but elegant style.

As for their look, Catarina’s dress was by Rosa Clará, with some details on the top, a beautiful bow at the back, and no sleeves, which allowed the bride’s various tattoos to stand out.

Bruno wore a Prassa Cerimónia suit in blue, a classic and timeless color, complemented by a light gray vest that not only highlighted the groom’s style but also harmonized with the wedding theme.

After the preparation, the ceremony followed, a civil ceremony with a beautiful moment of vows full of emotion, where the bride and groom expressed their love for each other.

The bouquet and boutonniere, as well as the decoration of all the spaces, were made by Kitschnet, combining natural elements with the flower of the wedding, the carnation, which not only gave color to the wedding and everyone present but also played the main role of paying homage to the carnation revolution.

We couldn’t fail to mention the ring bearers, the bride and groom’s dogs! Not only were they dressed to the nines, but they were also able to enjoy the day without any worries under the care of Soanimarte, the dog sitters.

After the ceremony, it was time for the sunset with entertainment also provided by Soanimarte, where both bride and groom had the opportunity to do their toss, where the bride threw her bouquet, and the groom a box of whisky to give to one of the bachelors.

There was also time to enjoy the photobooth from Ólhó Photobooth, for photos with the guests and a session only with the couple done by Pixel, who was responsible for the photography and video of the entire wedding.

The Kitschnet also decorated the dining room, but with a special detail: the tables were arranged using movie classics.

The meal and the cutting of the cake were lively and sociable moments where the bride and groom were surprised with a video made by their friends.

There was no better way for Catarina and Bruno’s special day to end than with a party, dancing to their favorite songs.

We believe that each wedding is unique, and this was the perfect example of how it is possible to live your day surrounded by everything you love. So we hope you enjoyed your day as much as we enjoyed making it happen, and we can’t wait to see how your story continues!

The whole ceremony took place at the beautiful Quinta do Redolho de Cima, in Lousada.

The day started very early with the preparation of the bride and groom. The beautiful bride was dressed by Pronoivas, make up by Silvana Cardoso and hair by Oficina do Cabelo.

The entire wedding planning and organization was in charge of our Get Married Wedding Planner team. All the details and decorations were treated in detail by Atelier Márcio Teixeira, until arriving at what Flávia and Luís always dreamed of.

In the church, we had the presence of the choir Eventos com Arte, which left everyone with tears in their eyes.

The party followed at Quinta do Redolho de Cima. A relaxed and very modern atmosphere. Not missing the animation throughout the day, Fabinho do Cavaco, O Bando das Gaitas, and WOW Eventos dealt with these special moments.

Without missing the flavors to brighten the special day, the cake was made by Cake&Dreams.

And to end the day in a big way, all the memories were recorded and photographed by the hands of Rui Teixeira.

Marriage is just the beginning of a beautiful story, which is yours! May this love that has brought you together remain forever in your hearts. All the best to you!

Elopement Wedding – a wedding for two https://www.getmarried.pt/en/2022/03/30/elopement-wedding-um-casamento-a-dois/ https://www.getmarried.pt/en/2022/03/30/elopement-wedding-um-casamento-a-dois/#respond Wed, 30 Mar 2022 16:46:52 +0000 https://www.getmarried.pt/pt/?p=2888 Still curious about Elopement Wedding? An Elopement Wedding is the celebration of a wedding for two. This choice has become very common today when the bride and groom try to find a more intimate and intense way to celebrate their love.

Patrícia and Rafael dreamed of living this day only by themselves and nature was an essential factor in the choice of space. Chão do Rio, located in Travancinha, Seia, was the venue for the big day.

Chão de Rio is surrounded by nature and all the characteristic environment of the region and by itself a magical and perfect place for Patrícia and Rafael to exchange their vows.

The day began very early, with the decoration of the surrounding space by the hands of Sónia Carmelita. The bride’s bouquet followed the palette of shades that was the perfect way to make this day even more unforgettable. Not forgetting the makeup and hair made by the amazing Studio SP by Sabrina Pinheiro.

The grooms’ clothes could not be unnoticed. The bride’s dress was made by Best Bridal and the groom’s suit by Prassa.

Everything was lived with the greatest intensity as so calls for an elopement wedding. From the preparation of the space to the preparation of the bride and groom, to the preparation of the meal, to the choice of places for the specific moments, the first look, the ceremony that featured the handfasting, the cutting of the cake and dinner… the emotion was the main presence throughout the day.

In an elopement, the decoration plays a key role, as it is documented photographically and so the details gain a huge dimension. All the decoration was designed together with the bride and groom and Sónia Carmelita and designed in detail around the earth tones.

Our Get Married Wedding Planner team was responsible for organizing and planning the entire event.

And because there is no shortage of mouth-watering delicacies and flavours, the team of the Encontrus took care of everything in great detail and once again presented us with such quality.

This day was forever immortalized by the talented João Almeida in photography, and the video by Tiago Oliveira.

Truth is, everything in a wedding with only two people becomes more intense and vibrant. Thank you, Patricia and Rafael, for this opportunity to experience so much emotion, so much love, and unity in this small ceremony.

A natural marriage, full of intimacy and romance, is what an Elopement Wedding calls for.

Flowers and your wedding https://www.getmarried.pt/en/2021/02/01/flowers-and-your-wedding/ https://www.getmarried.pt/en/2021/02/01/flowers-and-your-wedding/#respond Mon, 01 Feb 2021 13:07:23 +0000 https://www.getmarried.pt/en/?p=2754 For your wedding, you may already have thoughts about a theme like color or even an ambiance, but, you also need to think about the flowers.

Flowers are an implicit way to deliver so many messages. From the color to the quantities, by the choice of the species, flowers deliver an essence to your wedding. For instance, at a wedding with a really natural setting, you may use flowers like lavender or even herbal like Thyme or Rosmarin which brings you to a warm and natural atmosphere.

You may want some roses for a romantic vibe, but do you know each flower color has a special meaning?

As everybody may know, red is connected to romance and that is why red roses are a symbol of love and passion for writers and playwrights… But many other colors give an implicit message. Like for example, white refers to innocence and purity, in reference to the traditional white bridal dress.

Orange alludes to sincerity and fascination whereas coral reveals desire. Moreover, colors can have a different message when they are mixed together. For example, at Sofi and Luis wedding, they chose to combine yellow and purple which gave a really cute atmosphere of love at first sight mixed with a strong friendship, the essence of a relationship that will last.

Flowers are a very important part of the tradition at the wedding. Many women in couples are waiting for the toss of the bride’s bouquet. It’s a very traditional moment at a wedding where all unengaged women are crowded behind the bride and wait for her to throw away her bouquet. The first to catch it will be the next who is going to get married.

So, as you have understood now, flowers are a very important part of your wedding that you need to think about. For that, working with us is a way to help with the different decisions you have to make for flowers but it’s also a way to work with high-quality flowers.

As an example, we work with two very talented florists you may know, Sónia Carmelita from Make me Happy and Filipa from Pé de Flor. They are two very passionate people who will help you to make your wedding a very magic floral moment.

The rain is that matter that makes any nervous and worried bride think that everything can go wrong and contrary to all initial expectations for the big day. Having a Plan B, C, and D will never hurt you; instead, it will calm and reassure you.

When one thinks of getting married and choosing the date and place, one does not think that it will rain and the first concerns are the initial preparations.

And if it rains? What would Plan B be?

Let’s talk about emotion? https://www.getmarried.pt/en/2018/05/11/vamos-falar-de-emocao/ https://www.getmarried.pt/en/2018/05/11/vamos-falar-de-emocao/#comments Fri, 11 May 2018 10:14:49 +0000 http://www.getmarried.pt/?p=2170

We spoke with Carly Petracco and Isabel Nunes of Your European Wedding Celebrant (YEWC) and we asked them a few questions to better understand the importance of having a Wedding Celebrant and that’s when we realized we were talking about Emotion!

Why a Wedding Celebrant?

I believe the great reason why couples choose a celebrant is because more and more people are looking for something unique and personalized that mirrors their personalities, beliefs and lifestyle. I think people are tired of the cookiecutter model of conventional ceremonies. Hence, why many couples seek out our services. At Your European Wedding Celebrant, we work with each couple individually to create a totally unique and personalized ceremony for them. This is what marks our great difference and makes our work stand out.

What kind of couples come to you? The more relaxed or more traditional kind?

Mostly, they are more laidback couples. However, I feel that more and more, we are most sought after by all types of couples. Even the more traditional couple are beginning to be open to the idea of hiring a celebrant, this is because we can easily meet all their desires and expectations. A celebrant will be available to hold a ceremony in a garden, on a beach, in a lounge, on a yacht or even in a hot air balloon, as we have already done at YEWC! A celebrant can create a ceremony with a neutral tone, but she may also create one with a religious tone, a spiritual tone or even in a more comedic tone. Because of this wide range of possibilities, I believe that even the most traditional couples are beginning to realize that a celebrant can easily fulfill their needs.

There is certainly a need to create a bond based on empathy with the bride and groom. It is not always easy is it?

Bonding and empathy with the couple are undoubtedly critical. Since it is a very intimate work, it is essential for the celebrant to identify with and understand the couple and their relationship so that they can generously transpose the couple’s love into the ceremony. However, it has not been difficult for us to create such bonds and empathy. In order to be a wedding celebrant, it is necessary to have a very open mind, be communicative and be very generous. If a celebrant has these characteristics, they will easily create a great relationship with the couple right away. If a celebrant does not have these characteristics then it might be best to seek another profession.

How do you manage the whole process, from contact to the long-awaited Day?

Wedding day is considered to be one of the most special days in someone’s life. Usually, it creates tremendous stress and anxiety for the couple. As celebrants, it is our job to accompany the couple from the first contact until the day of the celebration to ensure that the ceremony is exactly as they wish. The first interview is usually a very emotional experience for the couple, because it forces them to go back in time and remember how everything happened and to reflect on why they are getting married. Then we move into the writing of the ceremony, it is very important that the celebrant does not put her ego into writing. That’s why I speak about generosity! The celebrant must be aware that she writes for the couple and not for herself, and must be prepared to change the ceremony as often as necessary until it is exactly in accordance with the couple’s expectations. This is continuous work, starting from the time of hiring until the day of the wedding, obviously including the rehearsal, where we always guarantee our presence.

Does the Marriage Celebrant replace the civil registry, that is, is it also a justice of the peace/notary or does this type of ceremony require the presence of both?

No. The work of a celebrant has no legal validity, it is only symbolic. Usually, couples do the legal procedures before the day of the celebration. It is possible to include the legal part in a ceremony of this kind, however, we do not advise this. These ceremonies are usually a very intimate and emotional, and the intervention of a notary with the legal and bureaucratic elements always ends up breaking the rhythm and the emotion of the moment.

How would you characterize your work in two words?

UNIQUE and UNFORGETTABLE

Toss or not to Toss? https://www.getmarried.pt/en/2018/04/18/liga-da-noiva-wedding-planner-portugal/ https://www.getmarried.pt/en/2018/04/18/liga-da-noiva-wedding-planner-portugal/#respond Wed, 18 Apr 2018 11:55:17 +0000 http://www.getmarried.pt/?p=2128 A bridal garter is likely the only piece of lingerie you´ll ever have removed by your husband and then flung gleefully into a rapt crowd. Wether this wedding garter tradition makes you laught or cringe, it´s still going strong. And even brides that don´t embrance the garter toss sometimes wear a garter nonetheless – a bridal garter can still be a sexy addition for your wedding night. As you shop for a garter, questions will start to arise – which leg do you wear it on? How much should it cost? How far up the leg is it supposed to? Where does this tradition come from, anyway?

What leg is the bride supposed to wear the bridal garter on?

There is no particular leg that a you should wear your wedding garter. you can put the garter on whatever leg feels comfortable and natural to you! There is no good or bad luck involved with either leg.

Where exactly do you place the garter on your leg?

Place your bridal garter wherever you like, but just make sure to try your garter on before the morning of your wedding. It´s generally recommended that you wear your wedding garter just above your knee. This is usually the narrowest part of your leg and your garter won´t rub your other leg when you walk or dance. Also, if you are wearing a mermaid or tighter fitting wedding dress, around your knee is where your dress will flare out, making this an ideal location for your garter. you can, of course, adjust it and put it higher if that feels ore comfortable for you.

Do I have to Toss my garter?

Whether or not you toss your garter is entirely up to you. If you aren´t into the garter toss, don´t do it! If you ( or your partner) would rather not toss your bridal garter at your reception, that is pefectly OK. One common reason for not wanting to actually toss the garter is that many brides want to keep it as a modern heirloom – if that´s the case for you, but you still want to the fun moment of the groom peeling (or biting) it off nd then tossing it, consider getting a separate toss garter. A toss garter just an extra garter (often simpler than the main garter) that the groom can take off your leg and toss, while you get to keep your real garter as a keepsake forever.

On the other hand, some brides may want to toss the garter, but are uncomfortable with the idea of their groom fishin around for the garter beneath their dress as their parents and grandparents look on. If this is you, you can opt not to your groom just before the toss. Tailor the toss to suit you!
