A celebration full of love, complicity and a great friendship … This couple from Brazil chose the Douro Wine Region as a backdrop for the celebration of their big day. A day thought out in detail and dreamed of by both.

The celebration started the day before with friends and family that they hadn’t seen since they came to Portugal, in the highly regarded Vintage House Hotel in Pinhão with a Port Wine tasting followed by a walk through the waters of the magnificent and imposing Douro River.

The place chosen for the reception was Quinta da Marka, dedicated to wine tourism, located on the right bank of the Douro River, between Pinhão and Peso da Régua.

With a Boho inspiration, the entire decoration was designed in detail. The supplier responsible  Maison Christina’s decorative pieces, a floral art by Pé de Flor and an assembly of the various scenarios, this responsibility of our Get Married Wedding Planner team.

With a lace coming from Brazil, the dress was designed and made by the stylist Micaela Oliveira and the Hair and Makeup, by the hands of Jenny Makeup Land.

The celebration was held by the brilliant Mariano Salvatore Sarno with the rite of roses and a beautiful speech and a super passionate exchange of vows, witnessed by “Heavenly Father”.

DJ Mário Kitty and Brazilian band Lilian Raquel and the Bossa Nova performed, which turned the dinner into a real moment of animation. The whole party was toasted by Cocktail Emotion cocktails.

And in a Brazilian wedding that values catering, it must have the many delicacies that make our mouths water and Chef Pippo left nothing to chance. The Brazilian table of sweets, this one also could not be missing, filled with delicious sweets and the famous well-married provided by Sucre & Cacao. The cake was made by the talented Bakewell and it was beautiful, to die for …

The day was immortalized by the Rui Teixeira Wedding Photography team, responsible for video and photography.

These were challenging days for our entire team, as Renata and Diogo knew what they wanted and everything was perfectly designed in their heads. These were days of intense work, which contributed to a beautiful result … A happy day and one that will forever be eternalized in the memory of this nice couple and each family member and friend.

To you, we wish you are eternally happy and that Heavenly Father is always watching over you and your little Gaia, a sprout of your love that, meanwhile, has sprouted in yet another beautiful love story!

Let's talk about Micro Weddings? https://www.getmarried.pt/en/2020/10/15/lets-talk-about-micro-weddings/ https://www.getmarried.pt/en/2020/10/15/lets-talk-about-micro-weddings/#respond Thu, 15 Oct 2020 16:42:08 +0000 https://www.getmarried.pt/?p=2689 In times of pandemic, there is a need to adapt to new requirements and Micro Wedding could be a solution for couples who do not want to give up their big day with the most important people.

A Micro Wedding consists of a wedding with a guest list of up to 40 people. Closer family and close friends that are part of the history of the couple.

One of the advantages of Micro Wedding is the freedom it offers the bride and groom. If the bride and groom do not want to include all the components of a traditional wedding, it is super easy. There are no rules or limits and what really matters is that the day has the meaning and everything that the couple dreamed and found important.

We will not say that a Micro Wedding will be cheaper. No! As a rule, the budget is higher per guest, the wedding is more personalized and provides a different experience for guests.

But Micro Wedding has more advantages:

– It is less stressful to organize a wedding for 20 people than for 100;

– The budget can be smaller, as a catering for 20/40 people is completely different for 100;

– Spend more time with your guests;

– You are less restricted in dates and times;

– And lastly, they tend to be shorter.

Will we live your love?

Postponed and now? https://www.getmarried.pt/en/2020/05/05/postponed-and-now/ https://www.getmarried.pt/en/2020/05/05/postponed-and-now/#respond Tue, 05 May 2020 12:19:01 +0000 http://www.getmarried.pt/?p=2434 Since the Covid-19 virus was installed in Portugal, questions started to be installed by our boyfriends! Do we postpone? Do we cancel? We wait? What we do?

The first e-mails and messages with these questions started to reach us as early as the middle of March. Our attitude has always been to calm and reassure all our fiancés, giving them our position that they should always consider postponing and never for cancellation. Thus, all the decisions made so far have been well thought out and taken together between phone calls, calls via Skype, Whatsapp …

It is a decision that no matter how much one has to make, it is not easy for couples who dream and plan in detail this day for one, two years … It is a lump in the throat, a tear that insists on falling, but we all have a certainty, we want a day full of happiness and closeness, “with lots of hugs and kisses”, as said by our bride Marta Ramos who postponed her wedding that would be on the 2nd of May.

Our mission is in the midst of chaos, which we also live in, to manage the whole situation in the most peaceful way. Yes, because it doesn’t just affect the lives of couples, it also affects our agenda and the lives of so many other professionals. It is gymnastics after gymnastics so we find a date that is common to all and without compromising the 2021 agenda of all suppliers that work with us.

To all the newlyweds who still have their day pending for this damned enemy of us all, wait with the calm and tranquility possible. The near future is uncertain and only as the days go by will they know the decision to make. It remains for us to trust and hope, whether on the date always dreamed or on a new date, your day will be special and unique!

As for our boyfriends, they know that we are here for everything, to elucidate and advise you in the best possible and clear way to make your day a perfect day!

Stay at home and cultivate your love even more!

Portugal, “the best destination in the world”, “the best wedding destination”! https://www.getmarried.pt/en/2019/09/19/portugal-the-best-destination-in-the-world-the-best-wedding-destination/ https://www.getmarried.pt/en/2019/09/19/portugal-the-best-destination-in-the-world-the-best-wedding-destination/#respond Thu, 19 Sep 2019 10:51:37 +0000 http://www.getmarried.pt/?p=2405 Portugal, “the best destination in the world”, has over 60 nominations in the tourism Oscars.

Lisbon, Madeira, Algarve, Azores, Sintra and Alqueva shine on the list of World Travel Awards.

Portugal after several nominations at the World Travel Awards final gala in 2018 and this year set new records in the European prize round, now goes to the “final battle” in November and this time in Oman with 66 nominations.

Noteworthy is a new attempt by Portugal to revalidate the title of best tourist destination in the world.

As the best tourist destination, it will certainly be also an excellent wedding destination, already proven by the number of foreign weddings in Portugal.

Portugal is undoubtedly a “garden planted by the sea”, where the climate is of excellence, the super rich cuisine from North to South and a people with open arms that knows how to receive.

With venues and suppliers of excellent quality and professionalism, Portugal will be the ideal stage to celebrate your union.

As for me, here I look forward to you looking forward to making your dreams come true for Terras de Portugal!

Portugal with Love https://www.getmarried.pt/en/2019/05/08/portugal-with-love/ https://www.getmarried.pt/en/2019/05/08/portugal-with-love/#respond Wed, 08 May 2019 11:21:53 +0000 http://www.getmarried.pt/?p=2380 Today we are going to talk about love, when life brings together two people from countries so far apart. The natural Sofi of Ecuador and the very Portuguese Luis, met in London and soon became inseparable. They traveled through Europe, but the love was so great that Luis left everything behind and believing in the love that united them, followed with Sofi to Ecuador.

This couple enchanted us by the sweetness, the grip and determination, right from the first contact. Portugal was soon elected to be the scene of this union, of the union between two countries with different cultures, but with something in common, Love!

They chose the city of Porto, very northern and with so much Portuguese characterization to make the dating session. In April, the day was gray, windy, and quite rainy, but the sun shone on them just as your eyes shine when they talk about each other!

We walked through the Serra do Pilar, through the D. Luís Bridge, through the streets that lead us to the riverside area. It was an afternoon full of hugs, smiles, kisses and whispers to the ear ..

On the eve of the great day, the sun smiled at them and showed them that their story is true, that the world is a pea full of surprises and good things, as good as their love ..

Were you curious about the big day? I leave you a cue, also had the douro as a witness!

Jewish Wedding https://www.getmarried.pt/en/2019/04/08/jewish-wedding/ https://www.getmarried.pt/en/2019/04/08/jewish-wedding/#respond Mon, 08 Apr 2019 14:30:03 +0000 http://www.getmarried.pt/?p=2363 For the Jewish religion, marriage is considered to be one of the most sacred acts. Jewish traditions are filled with meanings for marriage. Rituals are thrilling, considered true metaphors that allude to the Old Testament of the Bible.

On the spiritual level, marriage is understood to mean that the husband and wife unite to form a single soul. That is why man is considered “incomplete” if he is not married, as his soul is only a part of a larger whole that continues to be unified.

According to some rabbinic traditions, God completely forgives any sin that the couple has committed in their lives, so that they can begin their married life in a totally pure state.

Before the Wedding

The bride and groom in the week before the wedding do not see each other and on the day of the ceremony they fast from sunrise until after the ceremony under the chupá, nuptial palace, eating their meal together at the end of it. Besides the fast, the bride and groom read psalms and pray for God’s forgiveness.

According to ancient tradition, before the wedding, the bride presents the bridegroom with a talit (wreath of prayers) and the groom presents it with a pair of candlesticks. The talit is worn throughout the ceremony, supported on the head with its ends relapsed by the shoulders and serves so that it remembers to be humble.

The bride’s dress should be white – the color of purity – since all sins are forgiven in the great day. The groom, on the other hand, wears the white kite over the suit, resembling a shroud.

During the Wedding

The chupá, preferably under open sky, is the place where the ceremony takes place. It is a type of tent that represents the new home that the bride and groom will build together, it is a protection that represents the infinite blessing of God and the conjugal harmony. The moment is celebrated by a rabbi, leader representative of the religion.

The parents accompany the bride and groom to the chupá, the groom is the first to arrive and await the bride.

An essential detail is the bride having her face covered by a veil on reaching the suck, after being delivered by her parents to the groom. This act symbolizes that the future husband values all the value that the woman will have in her life. But the Jewish tradition believes that, at the moment of marriage, the woman bears on her face the divine happiness that must be preserved.

When the bride and her parents arrive at the sucker, they take seven turns around the groom. This is a custom spread only among Ashkenazi (Western) Jewish communities and symbolizes the seven days of creation.

The bride and groom should not carry anything in their pockets and should not wear jewelry during the ceremony in order to show their pure acceptance and devalue the material. Two glasses of wine are served to the newlyweds and both drink from the same cup, symbolizing total union.

The timing of the exchange of alliances is the highlight of the ceremony. alliances must be gold and smooth. The wedding ring should be placed in the strongest hand of the bride and represents an unconditional, perfect and unbreakable circle. From that moment, everything will be shared: life, the house, the goods, the dreams, the thoughts, everything …

At the end of the ceremony, comes the famous act of breaking the cup, which is done by the groom and means to keep the memory of the destruction of the temple of Jerusalem. Broken glass on the floor, meanwhile, means reconstruction in different phases, and the whole symbology is linked to the view of man’s mortality.

All the guests celebrate this moment saying “Mazal Tov”, which means “Good Luck” and ends with music.

During marriage, all men should wear the little white hat – symbolizing that God is above us, following all our actions.

It should be noted that Jewish rituals can have more than one meaning. In addition, we can observe marriages with different practices. Sephardic Jews (Spain and Arab countries) practice customs different from Ashkenazim Jews (France and Germany).

The party

Music is selected with symbolism and blessing, as well as dancing and raising the bridegroom’s chairs high. The party is very lively, most of the guests are very happy with the union and show well what they are feeling.
